OwedZero privacy policy

Your financial data stays on your device. We do not ask for a bank login or Social Security number, sell data, or run third-party advertising or tracking. OwedZero produces planning estimates and does not file taxes for you.

What the app stores

Income entries, receipts and attached photos, mileage logs, deduction selections, tax-profile information, and computed estimates are stored locally—in browser storage for the web app and app-private storage for Android. There is no account system and this information is not transmitted to our servers.

What we never collect

We never collect bank credentials, bank connections, Social Security numbers, Employer Identification Numbers, or payment-card details. Tax calculations never send their figures away.

What leaves your device

The Android app contacts Google Play to complete and restore the optional OwedZero Premium lifetime purchase. OwedZero receives product, purchase-state, and purchase-token information, never your card or bank details. IRS or EFTPS links open those agencies' websites. Export files are generated locally and go only where you choose.

Retention and deletion

We hold no server-side copy and define no developer-side retention period. Use More → Delete all my data, clear app or browser storage, or uninstall to erase local records. If a future version adds cloud backup, this policy will be updated before that feature ships.
