StatCaddie privacy policy

The current Play release has no account or cloud sync. Scores, rounds, photos, and videos stay on your device. Optional weather, elevation, map, and course lookups use the network. There are no ads, paid golf features, or developer analytics.

Location

Precise location is used only while a round is in progress to calculate distances, place shots, and advance holes. It is stored on the device and is not uploaded as raw coordinates. Live-round leaderboards remain unavailable unless a backend is configured.

Accounts and golf information

The current release has no sign-in and does not collect a name, email, or user ID. Scorecards, shots, statistics, posted scores, and an optional reference handicap remain in a local database. The calculated handicap is not an official USGA, World Handicap System, or GHIN index.

Photos, video, and diagnostics

Swing media remains on device. Pose analysis runs locally with Google ML Kit and no video frame is uploaded. Firebase Analytics and developer crash reporting are disabled in the current release.

Network services

• OpenStreetMap Overpass receives a course name or bounding box for geometry.
• OpenStreetMap and USGS receive map tile coordinates.
• golfcourseapi.com receives a course name or ID for scorecard and rating data.
• Open-Meteo receives a coarse coordinate for weather and elevation.

These services do not receive your name or email and are not advertising networks.

Retention and controls

On-device data remains until you delete it, clear app storage, or uninstall. Offline only mode stops network requests. You may delete individual rounds and revoke location, camera, or notification access in Android settings.

Children, attribution, and contact

StatCaddie is not directed at children under 13. OpenStreetMap data is available under the ODbL; weather and elevation data is provided by Open-Meteo. StatCaddie is not affiliated with the USGA, The R&A, the World Handicap System, or GHIN. Contact: [email protected].
