Steadily privacy policy

Meals, medication doses, symptoms, and weight are stored on your device by default. Steadily works offline without an account. Optional AI scanning, barcode lookup, anonymous usage counts, and subscription status use the network as described below. There are no ads, advertising SDKs, or data sales.

On-device information

Meals and portions, optional meal photos, medication name, dose, injection site and timing, side effects, weight, body-fat entries, water intake, and settings live in private local storage. Optional Apple Health access is read-only and limited to weight, body fat, and workouts; that information is not written back, shared, or used for advertising.

Optional AI, barcode, and voice features

AI meal scanning is off until you consent. A photo is resized and re-encoded on the phone to remove location metadata, then the photo or typed description is sent through Steadily's backend to Anthropic for a nutrition estimate. You choose whether the photo is stored privately or discarded after analysis. Barcode numbers go directly to OpenFoodFacts. Voice logging, where available, converts speech to text on device and does not upload audio.

Purchases and analytics

Google Play processes Steadily+ payments and RevenueCat tracks entitlement status; neither receives meal or medication logs. PostHog receives only approved anonymous event names and limited non-health properties. Health values and free text are excluded.

Retention, export, and deletion

On-device data stays until you delete it or uninstall. Data created through optional backend features is kept only as needed and is purged within 30 days of a deletion request, including from backups. Settings → Export provides JSON or CSV. Settings → Delete all my data wipes the device immediately and begins server deletion where applicable. You may also contact us to request access or deletion.

Security, children, and medical limits

Network data is encrypted in transit and backend tables use row-level security. Optional biometric app lock is handled by the device; Steadily never receives biometric data. The app is for adults managing a prescribed GLP-1 medication and is not directed at children under 13. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, or recommend doses.
