Before Confession
The traditional English text, as prayed in the Prosfora daily prayer rule. It is in the “Confession” section of the Prosfora prayer book.
O Lord my Saviour, Who didst receive the publican, the harlot, and the thief: receive me also, who have sinned beyond measure. Thou knowest my wounds — I show them to Thee, the Physician. Grant me tears of repentance, and the resolve to sin no more; and as I confess before Thy servant, let me hide nothing, for nothing is hidden from Thee. Amen.
