Commemorated on December 12
- St. Spyridon the Wonderworker, Bishop of Trimythous
St. Spyridon
A shepherd-bishop of Cyprus (4th c.), so simple that he kept tending sheep after consecration — and so full of grace that at Nicaea he pressed a brick and drew from it fire, water, and clay: three, yet one.
When it falls
- New Calendar: December 12 every year
- Old Calendar: civil December 25
Commemorations follow the Menaion of the Orthodox Church. New Calendar parishes keep them on the date shown; Old Calendar parishes keep them 13 days later on the civil calendar. Local churches add their own saints — your parish calendar comes first.
