Intercessions for the Living and the Departed
The traditional English text, as prayed in the Prosfora daily prayer rule. It is part of the morning prayer rule in Prosfora (included from the 20-minute rule).
Save, O Lord, and have mercy on my spiritual father, my parents, my brothers and sisters, my kinsmen, and all my neighbours and friends; and grant them Thy mercies both of this world and of the world to come.
Save, O Lord, and have mercy on the aged and the young, the poor, the orphans and widows, and all that are in sickness and sorrow, in misfortune and tribulation; and remember them, visit, strengthen, and comfort them, and grant them speedily, by Thy power, relief, freedom, and deliverance.
Remember, O Lord, all who have departed this life in the hope of resurrection unto life eternal, my parents, kinsmen, and benefactors — (their names) — and grant them rest where the light of Thy countenance shineth upon them.
