For the Sick
The traditional English text, as prayed in the Prosfora daily prayer rule. It is in the “For Every Need” section of the Prosfora prayer book.
O Lord Almighty, Physician of souls and bodies, Who puttest down and raisest up, Who chastenest and healest also: visit now in Thy mercy Thy servant (name). Stretch forth Thine arm, full of healing and health, and raise (him/her) up from this bed of sickness. Drive away every disease and every infirmity; and grant unto Thy servant patience, strength of soul and body, and restoration to health, that, rising, (he/she) may glorify Thee, with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Prosfora assembles your morning and evening prayers in 5, 10 or 20 minutes and walks you through them one prayer at a time. Pray in your browser or install the Android app.
